tar, ring or linear network topologies can be optionally combined, permitting ideal adaptation to the existing wiring structure.

Widely separated PROFIBUS segments (up to 15 km apart) can be reliably connected using OZD Profi. Even at these distances, the fastest PROFIBUS data rate (1.5 Mbit/s) is available.

Through cascading of fiber optic paths, the possible network extension can be increased may times. The only restriction encountered when using the Hirschmann OZD Profi... is the transmission delay time between partners tolerated by the end terminals (PROFIBUS parameters: Transmission delay time TTD; Users which do not communicate with each other can be left out of account). This permits, for example, lines to be run alongside pipelines over network distances of several hundred kilometers.
